St. George appeared impressed by the appointment of Selam Zeray to Ethiopian U-20 women’s national team head coach position after the management gave a green light for the signing of four players including former Lucy midfielder Tutu Belay to her second stint with the club. Knockout holders Hawassa Ketema is also in a signing spree following the parting of seven senior players.
In high spirit to emerge strong title contender in the newly formed Women’s league season, St. George brings in four players to its squad. The renowned mid fielder Tutu Belay is back to St. George after a single unsuccessful season with Addis Ababa Ketema while Semira Kemal returned to football after four years absence following motherhood. Former Ethiopia NegedBank mid fielder Bezawit Tesfaye and defender Etaferahu Adrse are the other two players that joined St. George. “Selam is smart for signing those players for her team that does have experience and team spirit” suggested a former footballer.

In the meantime the team that challenged heavy weights NegedBank and Dedebit to take home the knock-out trophy Hawassa appears to start from the scratch for many of its star players migrated to other clubs. With seven players leaving and four others ending their contract 13 new faces have joined the squad in preparation for the new season.” Since our star players including the likes of Losa Aberra and Aynalem Asamenew are leaving, I am building up from the scratch.” remarked Hawassa coach Yosef G/Wold.
