Ethiopia: Hawassa Earned 48 mln. Birr Revenue from Tourism

Hawassa City earned over 48 million birr revenue from tourists who visited attraction in the city in the past six months, The Ethiopian Herald reported.
The amount earned in the reported period increased by nine million birr compared to the same period in the pervious year, according to the city's Culture, Tourism and Communication Affairs Department.
The department attributed the growth to promotion activities carried out in collaboration with stakeholders, infrastructure developments and making destinations attractive for tourists.
Over 93,940 local and foreign tourists visited historic and natural sites during the reported period.
