Photo: Tim Hurley  Ethiopia and Kenya “Safari” is one of the few African words to make it into the English language - it means “journey”, and “njema” means “‘good”. My contact in the Irish education charity Camara in Ethiopia wished me “safari njema”. Having flown through the night it was amazing to touch down in Africa for the first time, just as the sun was dawning on a new day. Driving from Addis Ababa Airport towards the city to the hotel, the contrasts were striking: old beaten up blue-and-white taxis, repainted by hand with grainy paint-brush strokes, mixed with a small few shiny new cars on a new main road to the city. There’s a lot of building going on, revealing a city working hard to drive itself into the modern world. Of course, it also has the wonderful all-year-round pleasant heat of a sub-tropical, high-altitude climate, which made for a pleasant change from the rain and sleet I left behind in Ireland. በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ የሚገኙ ብሔር፣ ብሔረሰቦችና ሕዝቦች ፕሮፋይል (ገጽ ታሪክ) በ2008 ዓ.ም. ለማዘጋጀት መታቀዱን ምንጮች ገለጹ፡፡ የፕሮፋይል ዝግጅቱ ዋና ዓላማ ለማንነት ጥያቄዎች የመጀመርያ ምላሽ መስጠት የሚያስችል እንደሆነ የገለጹት ምንጮች፣ በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ ብሔር የቱ እንደሆነ፣ ብሔረሰቦችና ሕዝቦች የሚባሉት የትኞቹ እንደሆኑ ለመለየት የሚያስችል እንደሆነ ጠቁመዋል፡፡ ከዚህ በተጨማሪም ለሌሎች ኢኮኖሚያዊና ማኅበራዊ መረጃዎች እንደ ምንጭነት ሊያገለግል እንደሚችልም አስረድተዋል፡፡ የፕሮፋይል ዝግጅቱን ተግባራዊ ለማድረግ የብሔር ብሔረሰቦችና ሕዝቦች መለያ መሥፈርት ተረቆ፣ ለፌዴሬሽን ምክር ቤት በቀጣዩ ዓመት መጀመርያ ላይ እንደሚቀርብና እንደሚፀድቅ ገልጸዋል፡፡ ይህ የመለያ መሥፈርት በአሁኑ ወቅት በዝግጅት ላይ እንደሆነም ምንጮች ተናግረዋል፡፡ ይኼንን ተከትሎም የፌዴሬሽን ምክር ቤት የፕሮፋይል ዝግጅቱን በበላይነት የሚመራ ቦርድና ጽሕፈት ቤት ያቋቁማል ተብሎ ይጠበቃል፡፡ የሚቋቋመው ቦርድና ጽሕፈት ቤት በፌዴሬሽን ምክር ቤት በሚፀድቀው የመለያ መሥፈርት መሠረት የብሔር፣ ብሔረሰቦችና ሕዝቦችን ፕሮፋይል የሚያጠና ኩባንያ በጨረታ እንደሚቀጠር ለማወቅ ተችሏል፡፡ በሥራ ላይ የሚገኘው ሕገ መንግሥት ከመፅደቁ ከሃያ ዓመት በፊት በሽግግር መንግሥቱ ፀድቆ የነበረው ብሔራዊ ክልላዊ የሽግግር መስተዳድሮች ማቋቋሚያ አዋጅ በሚሰጠው ትርጓሜ መሠረት ‹‹ብሔር›› ወይም ‹‹ብሔረሰብ›› ማለት በአንድ ኩታ ገጠም መልክዓ ምድር የሚኖር፣ አንድ የመግባቢያ ቋንቋና የአንድነት ሥነ ልቦና ያለው ሕዝብ ማለት እንደሆነ ይገልጻል፡፡ በማስከተልም በኢትዮጵያ ውስጥ 64 ብሔር ብሔረሰቦችና ሕዝቦች መኖራቸውን ያስቀምጣል፡፡ በ1987 ዓ.ም. ፀድቆ ሥራ ላይ በዋለው የኢ

The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) has revoked the award given to Keangnam Enterprises Limited and has issued a re-bid for Meki- Zeway section of the Modjo- Hawassa Expressway project. The cancellation comes after a warning from the Export- Import Bank of Korea, the entity financing the road project. The project is worth USD 100 million, will be only open for bidding by Korean construction companies, according of the bid announcement published on the Ethiopian Herald on August 5. Lately, the Export- Import Bank of Korea evaluated Keangnam’s capacity in Ethiopia and suggested that ERA cancels the agreement. It was in February 2015 that ERA announced it had selected Keangnam to construct the 37 kilometer road. The road was expected to begin this budget year. Keangnam Enterprises is under investigation on suspicion of embezzlement in its country, South Korea. በዘንድሮው በዓል አዛውንቶች ( አያንቱዎች ) የበዓሉ ድምቀት ሆነው ሰንብተዋል፤ በአንድ አገር ውስጥ ማህበረሰባዊ የተቋም ሽግግር እንዲመጣ፣ የህዝቦች የጋራ እሴት እንዲጎለብት እና የትውልድ ቅብብሎሽ መኖር መሰረታዊ ስለመሆኑ የሚያጠያይቅ አይደለም። ሀገር ያለ ሰው አይደምቅም። ሰውም ያለ ሀገር አይፈጠርም። ለሀገር ዘመን ተሻጋሪ ድርና ማጉ ህዝብ ነው። የአንድ ህዝብ ታሪክ መሰረቱ የተከታታይ ትውልዶች ሥራ ነው። እያንዳንዱ ትውልድ ማህበራዊ አንድነቱንና አብሮ የመኖር ህልውናው አረጋግጦ ለሚቀጥለው ትውልድ የሚያስተላልፈው እሴት የዛ ህዝብ የማንነት መገለጫ ነው። የአንድ ህዝብ አገር በቀል እውቀት፣ ልምድ፣ ትውፊታዊ እምነት፣ ወግና ስርዓት፣ ያለፉትን ተከታታይ ትውልዶች ከዛሬው ከወደፊቱ ትውልዶች ጋር የሚያገናኝ፣ የሚያስተዋውቅና የሚያስተሳስር ሰንሰለት ነው። ያ ህዝብ የራሱን የኑሮ ዘይቤ በመደንገግና በመቅረፅ ሥርዓት ባለው መልኩ ህይወቱን ለመምራት ያደረጋቸው የለውጥ ሂደቶች የስብዕናው መገለጫዎችም ሆነው ይስተዋላሉ። ጉዞአችን በደቡብ ምስራቅ አቅጣጫ ነው። የሲዳማ ህዝብ በደቡብ ክልል ከሚገኙ ብሄር ብሄረሰቦች ህዝቦች መካከል አንዱ ነው። ዞኑ በሰሜን ምስራቅና በደቡብ ምስራቅ ኦሮሚያ ክልል እንዲሁም በስተምዕራብ የወላይታ ዞን ያዋስኑታል። የሲዳማ ህዝብ የራሱ የሆነ ቋንቋ ፣ የዘመን አቆጣጠር፣ ባህል፣ ስርዓት፣ ትውፊት፣ ወግና ሥርዓት ያለው ነው። ቋንቋው ሲዳምኛ ነው። የሲዳማ ብሄር የማንነቱ መለያና መገለጫ የሆኑ የበርካታ ባህላዊ ፣ታሪካዊና ማህበራዊ የአኗኗር ዘይቤ እሴቶች ባለቤት ነው። ከእነዚህ መካከል የፊቼ ጨምበላላ በዓል ዋና እና ቀዳሚው ከሆኑ

የክረምቱ ዝናብ መዝነብ በሚገባው መጠንና ጊዜውን ጠብቆ እየዘነበ ባለመሆኑ፣ በተለያዩ የአገሪቱ ክፍሎች ላይ ሥጋት አንዣቧል፡፡ ይህ የዝናብ እጥረት የተከሰተው የአየር ፀባይ ለውጥ ከሚያስከትሉት የንፋስ ዓይነቶች አንዱ የሆነው ኤልኒኖ በመከሰቱ መሆኑን ብሔራዊ ሚቲዎሮሎጂ ኤጀንሲ አስታውቋል፡፡ የዝናብ እጥረቱ በተለይም በምዕራብ ትግራይ፣ በአማራ፣ በደቡብ ኦሮሚያ፣ በአፋርና በሶማሌ ክልሎች መከሰቱ እየተነገረ ነው፡፡ በዚህም ሳቢያ በተለያዩ አካባቢዎች ያሉ አርሶ አደሮች የዘሩት ፍሬ ሳይዝ ከመቅረቱም በላይ፣ በአንዳንድ አካባቢዎች ከብቶች እየሞቱ መሆኑም ታውቋል፡፡ በምሥሉ ላይ በኦሮሚያ ክልል በአርሲ ዞን ዶዶታ ወረዳ የአንድ አርሶ አደር ቤተሰቦች የዘሩት ስንዴ በዝናብ እጥረት ምክንያት በመበላሸቱ ሽንኩርት ሲተክሉበት ይታያል፡፡  በዝናብ እጥረቱ ሳቢያ የተጋረጠውን ሥጋት የሚያስነብበውን የዳዊት ታዬ ዘገባ ለመመልከት እዚህ ጋር ይጫኑ ወይም በ ቢዝነስ እና ኢኮኖሚ ገጽ ላይ ይመልከቱ፡፡

ጠንካራ የልማት ሰራዊት በመፍጠር የህብረተሰቡን ማህበራዊና የኢኮኖሚ ተጠቃሚነት ለማረጋገጥ የምክር ቤት አባላት በትኩረት ሊሰሩ እንደሚገባ የሀዋሳ ከተማ አስተዳደር ከንቲባ አሳሰቡ። ምክር ቤቱ ለ2008 የበጀት ዓመት ከ1 ነጥብ 4 ቢሊዮን ብር በላይ በጀት አፅድቋል። የከተማውን የበጀት ዓመት አፈጻጸም ለምክር ቤቱ ባቀረቡበት ወቅት ከንቲባው አቶ ዮናስ ዮሴፍ እንደተናገሩት ባለፉት ሁለት አስርት ዓመታት የህብረተሰቡን ማህበራዊና ኢኮኖሚ ተጠቃሚነት ለማረጋገጥ አመራሩ፣መላው ህዝብና ባለድርሻ አካላት ባደረጉት የተቀናጀ ጥረት አበረታታች ውጤት ተመዝግቧል። በተጠናቀቀው በጀት ዓመት ብቻ በኮንስትራክሽን፣ በከተማ ግብርና፣ በማኑፋክቸሪንግ፣ በንግድና አገልግሎት ዘርፍ ከ54 ሺህ ለሚበልጡ ዜጎች ቋሚና ጊዜያዊ የስራ እድል መፈጠሩን ገልጸዋል። በከተማው ከ275ሺህ ካሬ ሜትር የሚበልጥ የመሸጫና የማምረቻ ቦታ አዘጋጅቶ ማቅረቡን ገልጸው አቅማቸውን ለማጎልበትም የአደረጃጀት ፣የተስማሚ ቴክኖሎጂና የመረጃ አገልግሎት ድጋፍ መደረጉን አስታውቀዋል። በተቀናጀ ጥረት ከ320 ሚሊዮን ብር የሚበልጥ የገበያ ትስስር መፈጠሩን አስታውቀው ይህም ማህበራት ምርትና አገልግሎታቸውን በወቅቱ ለገበያ እንዲያቀርቡ ማስቻሉን ገልፀዋል። የከተማውን ንጹህ የመጠጥ ውሃ አቅርቦት ለማሻሻልና ተደራሽነቱን ለማሳደግ ከክልሉ መንግስት፣ከከተማው አስተዳደርና ከዓለም ባንክ በተገኘ ከ184 ሚሊዮን ብር የሚበልጥ ወጪ በመካሄድ ያለው የውሃ ተቋም ግንባታ ከ80 በመቶ በላይ መጠናቀቁን አስታውቀዋል። ምክር ቤቱ ለ2008 በጀት ዓመት እቅድ ማስፈፀሚያ ካጸደቀው በጀት አንድ ቢሊዮን ብር ከአስተዳደሩ የውስጥ ገቢ የሚሸፈን ቀሪው ከክልሉ መንግስትና ከዓለም ባንክ የሚገኝ ነው ብለዋል። ምንጭ፦ ኢዜአ

Yirgalem based club Sidama Bunna signed Jimma Aba Bunna’s Nigerian striker Bari Ledum for undisclosed fee. Seasonal rains have failed to materialize in some parts of  Ethiopia , causing deaths of many cattle and other animals, officials and residents said on Monday. While the government is not calling the situation in parts of northern, northeastern and eastern Ethiopia a drought, the impact is taking a toll. Cheesman; Musaceae) is a multipurpose drought-tolerant food security crop with high conservation and improvement concern in Ethiopia, where it supplements the human calorie requirements of around 20 million people.   ADDIS ABABA Aug 4 (Reuters) - Ethiopia's inflation rose to 11.9 percent year-on-year in July from 10.4 the previous month, owing to a rise in both food and non-food prices, the statistics office said on Tuesday. The Central Statistics Agency said food price inflation increased to 13.9 percent from 12.4 percent in June, thanks largely to a rise in the prices of items such as meat, fruits, vegetables and cereals. The non-food inflation rate rose to 9.7 percent in July from 8.2 percent the previous month.
