መድኃኒት ማለት በሽታን ለመመርመር፣ ለመከላከል፣ ለማከምና ለመፈወስ የምንጠቀምበት ኬሚካል ነው፡፡ መድኃኒት ለበሽተኛ በሐኪም ትዕዛዝም ሆነ ያለሐኪም ትዕዛዝ ሊሰጥ ይችላል፡፡ ያለሐኪም ትዕዛዝ የሚሰጡ መድኃኒቶች በሽተኛው ላይ ብዙ የጎንዮሽ ጉዳቶች የሌሏቸውና በሽተኛው በሚፈልግበት ጊዜ በመድኃኒት ባለሙያው ድጋፍ፣ ምክርና መረጃ በመመርኮዝ የሚወስዳቸው ናቸው፡፡  በአገራችን ባለው የምግብ የመድኃኒትና ጤና ክብካቤ አስተዳደርና ቁጥጥር ባለሥልጣን መመርያ መሠረት ለራስ ምታት፣ ለጉንፋን፣ ለሆድ ቁርጠትና ለመሳሰሉት ቀላል ሕመሞች የሚወሰዱ መድኃኒቶች ያለሐኪም ትዕዛዝ ሊሸጡ የሚችሉ ናቸው፡፡  በሐኪም ትዕዛዝ (በማዘዣ ወረቀት) የሚሰጡ መድኃኒቶች፤ በባለሙያው ከፍተኛ ጥንቃቄ ተወስዶባቸው ካልታዘዙ በስተቀር በበሽተኛው ላይም ሆነ በማኅበረሰቡ ላይ ከፍተኛ ጉዳት የሚያስከትሉ ናቸው፡፡ በአግባቡ ካልተወሰዱም በሽታ አምጭው ተህዋስ መድኃኒቱን እንዲላመድ ያደርጋሉ፡፡  በሐኪም ትዕዛዝ ከሚወሰዱት መድኃኒቶች መካከል የፀረ ተህዋስያን መድኃኒቶች (Antimicrobials) ተጠቃሽ ናቸው፡፡ ፀረ ተህዋስያን መድኃኒቶች የሚባሉት በቫይረስ፣ በባክቴሪያ፣ በፈንገስና በፕሮቶዝዋ አማካይነት የሚመጡ በሽታዎችን ለማከም የሚያገለግሉ ናቸው፡፡  ፀረ ተህዋስያን መድኃኒቶችን ያለሐኪም ትዕዛዝ መውሰድ ከሚያስከትላቸው ችግሮች መካከል አንዱና ዋነኛው የፀረ ተህዋስያን መድኃኒቶች መላመድ (Drug Resistance) ነው፡፡ አንድ የፀረ ተህዋስያን መድኃኒት በትክክለኛ መጠኑ ወይም የሰውነታችን ሴሎች ሊቋቋሙት በሚችሉት መጠን ወይም ከመጠኑ በላይ ተሰጥቶ ተህዋስያኑ የማይሞቱ ወይም መራባታቸውን የማያቆሙ ከሆነ ተህዋስያኑ መድኃኒቱን ተላመዱ ይባላል፡፡  የፀረ ተህዋስያን መድኃኒ

Redwan Hussein, Head of Government Communication Affairs Office (GCAO), disclosed the Ethiopian government will not make a significant devaluation to birr against the major currencies. He made the announcement during a press conference held last week at his office. The press conference was given on current affairs and he made various announcements. In addressing the question relating to devaluation of birr, he said; “The government will not accept all proposals, the government considers all the pros and the cons of the proposal and decided on the issues that will benefit the country more.” A report by the World Bank, which came out a few weeks ago, suggested Ethiopia devaluate its currency in order to support the export sector. The report noted 10 percent devaluation in Birr could lead to a five percent improvement in export earnings.
