The second Alle Bejimla wholesale cash & carry store opened at Kaliti on Wednesday, June 25, 2014, with the third, at Merkato, to follow on July 2, 2014. The cost to the government of setting up the three stores has reached 26 million Br. A profit making state venture under the Ethiopian Trading Enterprise (ETE), with the trade name Alle Bejimla, which literally translates as “wholesale available” commenced operations on May 26, 2014, this year, when Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn inaugurated the opening of its Megenagna store. The Kaliti store will target residents of the Akaki Kaliti and Nefas Silk Lafto districts. The Merkato store is anticipated to be opened in front of the Khelifa Building in Somali Tera in Addis Ketema District.
