Queen Maxima Of Netherlands Visits Ethiopia To Highlight Importance Of Financial Inclusion For The Rural Poor ADDIS ABABA – Her Majesty Queen Máxima of the Netherlands, the United Nations Secretary General’s Special Advocate for Inclusive Finance for Development (UNSGSA), has just completed a two-day trip to Ethiopia to support Ethiopia’s efforts to make financial services more accessible to the rural poor. She has been accompanied on the visit by senior officials from the three Rome-based UN agencies focusing on food security, together underlining the role that expanding financial inclusion plays in strengthening food security, as well as how food security interventions can enhance access to affordable financial services for the poor. አዲስ አበባ ታህሳስ 4/2006 በመጪዎቹ አስር ቀናት የበጋው ደረቅ ጸሃያማና ነፋሻማ የአየር ሁኔታ በአብዛኛው የአገሪቱ ክፍሎች ላይ ተጠናክሮ እንደሚቀጥል የኢትዮጵያ ሜቲዎሮሎጂ ኤጀንሲ ገለጸ። በአንዳንድ ደጋማ ቦታዎች ላይ የሌሊቱና የማለዳው ቅዝቃዜ እንደሚያይልና አልፎ አልፎ የቅዝቃዜው መጠን ከአምስት ዲግሪ ሴልሺየስ በታች ሊሆን እንደሚችል አስታውቋል፡፡ በአንዳንድ የደቡብና የደቡብ ምእራብ እንዲሁም የሰሜን ምስራቅ ስፍራዎች መጠነኛ የደመና ሽፋን መጨመር ስለሚጠበቅ የሌሊቱንና የማለዳውን ቅዝቃዜ ጋብ ሊያደርገው እንደሚችል ይጠበቃል። በዚህም ጊዜ ወቅቱ ለሰብል ስብሰባና ድህረ ሰብል ስብሰባ አመቺ ሁኔታን ቢፈጥርም ደረቅና ቀዝቃዛ አየር ወደ አገሪቱ የሚገባ በመሆኑ የሌሊቱና የማለዳው ቅዝቃዜ ስለሚጠናከር በአንዳንድ ለውርጭ ተጋላጭ በሆኑ አካባቢዎች ላይ በአዝርእትና በእንስሳት ጤናማ እድገት ላይ አሉታዊ ተጽእኖ ሊኖረው ይችላል ብሏል። በሌላም በኩል በአስሩ ቀናት መጨረሻ የደቡብ፣ የደቡብ ምእራብና የሰሜን ምስራቅ አካባቢዎች የደመና ሽፋን መጨመር ስለሚጠበቅ ሊፈጠር የሚችለውን ቅዝቃዜ እንደሚያረግበው ይጠበቃል፡፡ በዚህ መካከል የሚፈጠረው መጠነኛ ቅዝቃዜ ለአዝርእትና እንስሳት ጤናማ እድገት አመቺ ሁኔታ ሊፈጥር እንደሚችል ይጠበቃል ብሏል።

Anodyne Coffee Roasting Company’s recently opened roasting and packaging facility at 224 W. Bruce St. has been awarded organic certification by the nonprofit Midwest Organic Services Association (MOSA). In order to be certified, Anodyne had to prove that its organic products would not be in contact with non-organic matter and meet other processing, handling and offering criteria.   In a press release, Anodyne states that they have “always strived to buy and offer sustainably grown coffees, many of which met organic certification standards, but could not be labeled as such without the certification of the company as a whole. Anodyne has always believed in the importance of sustainability and continues to work toward socially responsible practices.” This environmentally friendly roaster is also Fair Trade and Rainforest Alliance certified, and is a member of the Green Masters Program of Wisconsin, Local First Milwaukee and Focus on Energy.
