Woldeamanuel Dubale Foundation(WaDF) Among the notable customs and values of Sidama nation, one can mention the rule of truth (Halaale), the government of the elders, dialogical and consensus based method of problem solving, and the fear of God (Magano). Apart from being liable to burden of excise tax and forced labor, Sidama people were obliged to abandon the long standing social, and political authority systems, which include woma, mote, and the luwa systems. The people through its leaders resisted  the inhuman actions and maltreatments of previous governments. During the Era of Menelik II and thereafter Sidama Compatriots fought against the regimes , in time and space, in an unorganized and organized manners.  As an organized resistance, Sidama Liberation Movement (SLM) waged an armed struggle, against the military regime for more than 10 years between 1978 -1990 and fully liberated 3 high land districts of Arbegona, Bensa and Aroressa in the South Eastern Sidama land fro

It is often argued that the socialist regime of the military junta that took power after the 1974 revolution in Ethiopia was not exclusively an Abyssinian (Tigre and Amhara) dominated administration. On the basis of such argument is to be found the occasional participation of few, handpicked surrogates who were ready to serve their Abyssinian masters at the expense of their own peoples.  In this regard, there were a number of notorious non Abyssinian cadres of the socialist government who tortured, maimed and even killed their own people to obtain favours from their Abyssinian masters. Ali Musa of the then Bale province in the present Oromia region, and Pertros Gebre of the then southern Shewa province are indicative cases in this regard. ዲላ ሃምሌ 11/2004በጌዴኦ ሲዳማና ቦረና ዞኖች በአይን ሞራ ግርዶሽና ትራኮማ ለተጎዱ ወገኖች የህክምና አገልግሎት በመስጠት ላይ መሆኑን ሀንሴሻ ተራድኦ ልማት ሀገር በቀል በጎ አድራጎት ድርጅት ገለጸ። የድርጅቱ ስራ አሰኪያጅ አቶ ታደሰ አላኮ በዲላ ከተማ ከሶስቱ ዞኖች ለተውጣጡ የዓይን ህሙማን የህክምና አገልግሎት በተሰጠበት ወቅት ለኢትዮጵያ ዜና አገልግሎት እንደተናገሩት የአይን ሞራ ግርዶሽ ያለባቸውን ህሙማን በመለየት የህክምና አገልግሎት እንዲያገኙ እየተደረገ ነው። ባለፉት ስድስት ዓመታት በአይን ህክምናው በተለይ በዓይን ሞራ ግርዶሽና በትራኮማ የተያዙ ከሁለት ሺህ የሚበልጡ ነዋሪዎች ህክምና ማግኘታቸውን ገልጸዋል። ድርጅቱ የአይን ሞራ ግርዶሽ ህክምናን በዝዋይና ቡታጅራ በሚገኙ የህክምና ማእከላት እንደሚሰጥ ገልጸው የትራኮማ ቀዶ ህክምናና ሌሎች ቀላል ህክምናዎችን በዲላ ሆስፒታል እየሰጠ መሆኑን አስታውቀዋል። ማየት ተስኗቸው በቤታቸው ተቀምጠው የነበሩ 20 ልጆችን ለሶስት ተከታታይ ዓመታት የብሬል ስልጠና በመስጠት ወደ አንደኛ ደረጃ ትምህርት ቤት እንዲገቡ ማድረጉን አቶ ታደሰ ገልጸዋል። በጌዴኦ ዞን የዲላ ዙሪያ ወረዳ ነዋሪ አቶ አለማየሁ ገመዴ ሁለት ልጆቻቸው በአይን ሞራ ግርዶሽ ማየት ተስኗቸው እንደነበር አስታውሰው ባለፈው ዓመት በተደረገላቸው ቀዶ ሕክምና ሙሉ ለሙሉ ለማየት መቻላቸውን ተናግረዋል። በድርጅቱ አጋዠነት ትምህርታቸውን በመከታተል ላይ ከሚገኙት ተማሪዎች መካከል ተማሪ ጥላሁን ተፈራና ሁሴን መሃመድ ከዚህ ቀደም ድጋፍ የትምህርት እድል ሳያገኙ መቆየታቸውን ገልጸው አሁን ባገኙት ድጋፍ ሶስተኛ ክፍል መድረስ መቻላቸውን ተናግረዋል።

ሐምሌ ፲፪ (አስራ ሁለት) ቀን ፳፻፬ ዓ/ም ኢሳት ዜና:-የኢሳት የደቡብ ዘጋቢ እንደገለጠው በሲዳማ ዞን በዳሌ ወረዳ ይርጋለም ከተማ 3 የልማት ሰራተኞች ከስራ የተባረሩ ሲሆን ፤ ከትናንት በስቲያ ከታሰሩት መካከል ደግሞ፣ የግብርና ሰራተኞች የሆኑት አቶ ዳዊት ኡጋሞና አቶ በለጠ በልጉዳ፣ የመዘጋጃ ሰራተኛ የሆኑት አቶ ዘሪሁን፣ መምህር ተስፋየ ተሻለ፣ መምህር አብዮት ዘሪሁን፣ መምህር በፍቃዱ ዱሞ፣ መምህር ለገሰ ገሰሰ፣ መምህር ዶልቃ ዱጉና እና ቀበሌ አመራሩ አቶ ካያሞ ፋቶ ይገኙበታል። በአለታ ጭኮ ወረዳ ደግሞ የፌደራል ፖሊስ አባላት የወረዳውን ፖሊስ አዛዥ ክፉኛ በመደብደባቸው አዛዡ ሆስፒታል ተኝተዋል። አዛዡ የፖሊስ አባል መሆኑን መታወቂያውን በማውጣት ለፖሊሶች ቢያሳይም ፣ መታወቂያህን ለእናትህ አሳያት በማለት ቀጥቅጠው ደብድበውታል።  በሁሉም የሲዳማ ወረዳዎች ላይ የፌደራል ፖሊስ አባላት በብዛት ተብትነዋል። በዞኑ የሚገኙ ወረዳዎች የፌደራል ፖሊስ አባላትን ወጪ እንዲሸፍኑ በመጠየቃቸው ፣ ከክልሉ ጋር ውዝግብ ውስጥ ገብተዋል። የወረዳው ሀላፊዎች ለፖሊሶች ተብሎ የተያዘ በጀት በሌለበት ሁኔታ እንዴት ወጪያቸውን እንሸፍናለን የሚል ጥያቄ ቢያቀረቡም፣ የክልሉ መንግስት ለሴፍትኔት ተብሎ ከተያዘው ባጀት አውጥተው እንዲከፍሉ አዟል። አብዛኛው የሴፍትኔት ባጀት የሚያዘው ከአለም ባንክ በሚበጀት በጀት ነው። በቀርቡ በአዋሳ እና በጪኮ ወረዳ የታሰሩት ወጣቶች ከአሸባሪው የግንቦት7 ጋር ተባብራችሁዋል በሚል ክስ ተመስርቶባቸው እንደነበር መዘገባችን ይታወሳል። ______________________
