አዲስ አበባ ሰኔ 13/2005 ዛሬ በይፋ የተቋቋመው የኢትዮጵያ ሳይንስ አካዳሚ የአገሪቱን ልማት የሚያግዝ ስኬታማ ምርምርና ጥናቶችን እንዲያደርግ ለማስቻል መንግሥት አስፈላጊውን ድጋፍ እንደሚያደርግ የሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ሚኒስቴር ገለፀ። በተባበሩት መንግሥታት ድርጅት የስብሰባ አዳራሽ በተካሄደው የአካዳሚው ይፋዊ የማቋቋሚያ ጉባዔ ላይ የተገኙት የሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ሚኒስትር አቶ ደሴ ዳልኬ እንዳስታወቁትአካዳሚው በአገሪቱ ችግር ፈቺ የምርምርና የጥናት ስራዎችንና የሳይንስና ቴክኖሎጂ ልማትን ለማሳደግ ትልቅ አቅም ይፈጥራል። የኢትዮጵያ ሳይንስ አካዳሚ ፕሬዚዳንት ፕሮፌሰር ደምሴ ኃብቴ በበኩላቸው አካዳሚው ለአገሪቱ ልማት ጠቀሜታ ያላቸውን የተለያዩ የምርምር ስራዎች ለመስራት የአካዳሚው አባላት በአምስት የተለያዩ መስኮች ተከፍለው የጥናትና ምርምር ስራዎችን እየሰሩ መሆናቸውን ተናግረዋል። አካዳሚው እስካሁን በኢትዮጵያ በጤናው ዘርፍ የሚሰሩ የምርምር ተቋማትን ግንኙነት፣ በመጀመሪያ ደረጃ ትምህርት ጥራት፣ በግብርና እና በጤና መካከል ያለው የፖሊሲ ቅንጅት ምን እንደሚመስል ጥናት አድርጓል። አካዳሚው የሚያወጣቸው የምርምርና የጥናት ስራዎች የኅብረተሰቡን ኑሮ የመለወጥ አስተዋጽኦ እንዲያደርጉ ስራዎቹ ወደ ተግባር የሚሸጋገሩበትን አሰራር እንደሚከተልም ፕሬዚዳንቱ አስታውቀዋል። ፕሮፌሰር ደምሴ እንዳሉት አካዳሚው በመጪው ኅዳር ወር በአዲስ አበባ የሚካሄደውን የአፍሪካ የሳይንስ አካዳሚ ጉባዔን ለማስተናገድ የሚያስችሉ የተለያዩ ዝግጅቶችን እያደረገ ይገኛል። በሥነ-ሥርዓቱ ላይ የሕዝብ ተወካዮች ምክር ቤት አባላት፣ ሚኒስትሮችና ሌሎች የመንግሥት ከፍተኛ የስራ ኃላፊዎችና የአካዳሚው መስራች አባላት ተገኝተዋል። የኢትዮጵያ ሳይንስ አካዳሚ ከተለያዩ የሙያ ዘርፎች በሳይንስ ማህበረሰቡ በ

The Ireland Aid - Sidama Development Programme - An Area Based Integrated Rural Development Approach 2.1  The Development Programme The Ireland Bilateral Aid Programme for the Sidama province known as the Sidama Development Programme (SDP) was established in May 1994 after a feasibility study conducted by the team of development experts from the  Embassy of  Ireland in Addis Ababa, led by Mr. Joseph Feeney identified three areas for development assistance in the country. Kumo   1.Introduction: the Failure of the Conventional Aid Model The micro and macroeconomic impacts of development aid in Africa has become one of the most contentious issues for decades now. The recent path breaking book "Dead Aid" by Dambisa Moyo, an Oxford/Harvard economist, has shaken the foundation of the development aid model and stirred up the debate whether aid does in fact help to reduce poverty and increase economic growth in poor African countries.  Moyo (2009) argues that although in the past fifty years Africa received more than $1 trillion in development related assistance from rich countries, poverty rates continue to escalate and growth rates have steadily declined.
