አዋሳ ሚያዚያ 10/2005 በደቡብ ክልል ሲዳማ ዞን ከአንድ ቢሊዮን ብር በሚበልጥ በጀት ከአንድ ሺህ 500 ኪሎ ሜትር በላይ የገጠር ቀበሌ ተደራሽ መንገድ ግንባታ ፕሮግራም በመካሄድ ላይ መሆኑን የዞኑ መንገድና ትራንስፖርት መምሪያ ገለጸ፡፡ በፕሮግራሙ ከ12 ሺህ ለሚበልጡ ስራ አጥ ወጣቶች የስራ ዕድል መፈጠሩ ተገልጿል፡፡ የመምሪያው ሀላፊ አቶ ማቴዎስ ዳንኤል ትናንት ለኢትዮጵያ ዜና አገልግሎት እንደገጹት ሀገራዊና ክልላዊ የዕድገትና ትራንስፎርሜሽን ዕቅድን ተከትሎ በዞኑ ሁሉንም የገጠር ቀበሌዎች ደረጃቸውን በጠበቁና ክረምት ከበጋ በሚያገለግሉ መንገዶች በማገናኘት የህብረተሰቡን አስተዳደራዊ፣ ማህበራዊና ኢኮኖሚያዊ ዕድገት ለማረጋገጥ ትኩረት ተሰጥቶ እየተሰራ ይገኛል፡፡ ፕሮግራሙ በዞኑ በከተማና በገጠር፣ በአምራችና በአገልግሎት ሰጪው እንዲሁም በግብርናና በኢንዱስትሪ ዘርፎች መካከል የሚኖረውን ትስስር በማጠናከር አርሶ አደሩ ምርቶቻቸውን ለገበያ በማቅረብ ከምርቱ ተጠቃሚ እንዲሆን ጠቀሜታው የጎላ በመሆኑ ርብርብ እየተደረገ ነው ብለዋል፡፡ በዞኑ እስካሁን 927 ኪሎ ሜትር የገጠር ቀበሌዎችን ክረምት ከበጋ የሚያገለግል መንገድ መኖሩን ጠቁመው በያዝነ ዓመት ለዘረፉ ልዩ ትኩረት በመስጠት ሽፋኑን ከፍ ለማድረግ የቀበሌ ተደራሽ መንገድ ግንባታ በመካሄድ ላይ ይገኛል ብለዋል፡፡ ከዞን ጀምሮ እስከ ቀበሌ በተደረገ ሁለገብ ርብርብ እስከሁን 262 ኪሎ ሜትር በላይ መንገድ ተገንብቶ አገልግሎት መስጠት ሲጀምር ቀሪውን እስከ በጀት ዓመቱ መጨረሻ ለማጠናቀቅ ከአንድ ሺህ ኪሎ ሜትር በላይ የቅየሳ ፣ የዲዛይንናና የአፈር ድልዳሎ ስራ ሙሉ በሙለ መጠናቀቁን ተናግረዋል፡፡ የቀበሌ ተደራሸ መንገድ ግንባታ ፕሮግራም 25 በመቶ በህብረተሰብ ተሳትፎ የሚሸፈን በመሆኑ ከ154 ሺህ በላይ ህዝብ 8

ሃዋሳ ሚያዚያ 10/2005 የሀዋሳ ከተማን የቄራ አገልግሎት ለማሻሻል በ25 ሚሊዮን ብር በጀት የተጀመረው አዲስ ፕሮጀክት ግንባታ በመፋጠን ላይ እንደሚገኝ የከተማው ማዘጋጃ ቤት ገለጸ፡፡ በማዘጋጃ ቤቱ የመሰረተ ልማት ማስፋፊያ ፕሮጀክት አስተባባሪ አቶ መብራቴ መለሰ ትናንት ለኢትዮጵያ ዜና አገልግሎት እንደገለጹት በአለም ባንክ ፣ በክልሉ መንገስትና በከተማው ወጪ የሚካሄደው አዲሱ የቄራ አገልግሎት ፕሮጀክት ግንባታ የተጀመረው በ2003 መጨረሻ ላይ ነው፡፡ በአሁኑ ወቅት የፕሮጀክቱ ግንባታ ከአጠቃላይ ስራው 75 በመቶ መጠናቁቅንና በዕቅዱ መሰረት ስራው እየተፋጠነ ይገኛል ብለዋል፡፡ ለስጋ ፍጆታ የሚውሉ በግና ፍየልን ጨምሮ በቀን ከ400 በላይ የእርድ እንስሳትን የማሰተናገድ አቅም ያለው አዲሱ የቄራ ፕሮጀክት ለሁለቱም ሀይማኖቶች የሚያገለግል መሆኑን ገልጸዋል፡፡ የቀድሞ ቄራ ከበሬ በቀር የፍየልና በግ እርድ ያልነበረው ፣ከከተማው ፈጣን ዕድገትና ከተጠቃሚው አንጻር የማስተናገድ አቅሙ በቂ ባለመሆኑ ይህንን ለማሻሻል አዲስ ፕሮጀክት ተቀርጾ ወደ ተግባር መገባቱን ተናግረዋል፡፡ በህብረተሰቡ ጥያቄ መሰረት መንግስት በሰጠው ትኩረት የሚካሄደው ፕሮጀክት ከነባሩ የተሻለና የጥራት ደረጃውን የጠበቀ አገልግሎቱን ለማቀላጠፍ ፣ የከተማውን ዕደገትና የተጠቃሚውን ፍላጎት የሚያሟላ ነው ብለዋል፡፡ የፕሮጀክቱ ግንባታ የህንጻና የኤሌክቶሮ ሜካኒካል ስራዎችን አካቶ በዘንደሮ አመት መጨረሻ ላይ መሉ ለሙሉ ተጠናቆ ለአገልገሎት ሲበቃ ጥራትንና ቅልጥፍናን ያሻሽላል፡፡ ህገወጥ እርድን በመቆጣጠር ከጤና ጋር ተያይዞ የሚመጡ ችግሮችን ለማስቀረት የሚያስችል ትልቅ ፕሮጀክት መሆኑን አስረድተዋል፡፡ የቀድሞ ቄራ እንዳለ ሆኖ አዲሱ ፕሮጀክት ራሱን ችሎ የሚያገለገል መሆኑም ተመልክቷል፡፡ http://w

There were only two hospitals serving more than 10 million, leaving most residents with no access to health care of any kind. Emergency care, medication, surgery and maternity services were virtually non-existent. The situation was especially grim for mothers and children. Almost all women give birth at home, usually assisted by untrained birth attendants. If there were complications, the only option for a woman in labor was to walk 15-35 miles to the nearest hospital. Ecco’s Brazilian coffee is just about done at all locations. That means we are moving to Counter Culture for our next guest coffee. It’s been fun getting to know these guys. They roast their beans down in Durham, North Carolina. I am so excited about this coffee. It is from a great coffee growing region in the southern part of Ethiopia, called Sidama. The name of the coffee is Shilicho which translates to “Good Taste” in Sidama. Not as wild as some other coffees from Ethiopia (Yirgacheffe), which can be very sour with varying degrees of fruitiness. This one is sort of sweet, round, and vibrant. If you take cream, we suggest you try it black first. You might be surprised how it tastes. We’ll be pouring this Ethiopian coffee for the next few weeks at all our locations. We just featured an Ethiopian coffee from Kuma. For all of you who’ve been enjoying it, we’ve got another Ethiopian for you to try. We’re really pumped to have  Metropolis  back in the house. This time they sent us a Sidamo from the Guji region. Kelly from Metropolis told me that they have a nickname for it, “The Guj” (long u: gūj). I thought that was neat. I’ve been working on new training materials about coffee. So I’ve been refreshing myself about the different regions we experience with our coffee program. Ethiopia is the number one producer of coffee in Africa, the 6th globally. There are 15 million workers in the coffee production industry there. The coffees are picked in the Fall. Many Ethiopian coffees are made using the fully-washed process. The workers start out by removing the skin and pulp from the bean while the coffee fruit is still moist. The coffee skins are removed, then allowed to ferment, where enzymes loosen the sticky fruit pulp. This is where a lot of the sw
