Kumo May 10, 2009 I An Overview of the Sidama History One of the ancient Kushites, the Sidama people live in the southern part of the present day Ethiopia,with notable geographical features such as lake Awassa in the North and lake Abaya in the South. The Great East African Rift Valley dissects the Sidama land into two: western lowlands and eastern highlands. During the course of the great popular migration around the first century AD from North and East Africa to the South of the continent, some Sidamas were left behind and were later scattered into different parts of the sub region. According to the Sidama oral history, during this course of popular migration, the first group of Sidamas reached as far South as the Dawa river, in the present day Ethio-Kenyan boarder before returning back to their present land. Indonesian ambassador to Ethiopia, H.E. Ambassador Ramli Saud gave a public lecture to community of Hawassa University (HwU) on January 31, 2013. On the occasion, Dr. Yosef Mamo, President of HwU following his brief about his University under scored the importance of making collaboration with Asian counties like Indonesia which are leading the world economy and known for making their partnership on the basis of mutual benefit. In his lecture, the ambassador highlighted the historical back ground of the two countries relation. Of the significant progress made in their relation, according to the ambassador’s lecture, the trade relation is worth mentioned, i.e. the total trade relation which was US $ 40.7 mil in 2004 grew up surprisingly to $303.9 in 2012. አዲሰ አበባ ፣ ጥር 29 ፣ 2005 (ኤፍ ቢ ሲ) በደቡብ ክልል አንዳንድ አካባቢዎች ላይ የተከሰተውን የማጅራት ገትር በሽታ በቁጥጥር ስር ለማዋል የተጠናከረ ጥረት እየተደረገ ነው ። በአስር አመት አንድ ጊዜ የሚከሰተው የማጅራት ገትር (ማኔንጃይትስ) ወረርሽኝ ፥ ሰሞኑን በደቡብ ክልል አንዳንድ አካባቢዎች ላይ ተከስቶ እንደነበር ነው መረጃዎች የሚያሳዩት። ከእነዚህም ውስጥ በሲዳማ ዞን ሸበዲኖ ወረዳ፣ በጋሞ ጎፋ ዞን አርባ ምንጭ ከተማና አላባ አካባቢ ፥ ከ100 በላይ ምልክቶቹ የታየባቸው ሰዎች በላቦራቶሪ ምርመራ በበሽታው መያዛቸውን ማረጋገጥ ተችሏል ነው ያለው የክልሉ ጤና ቢሮ። በሽታው ከመከሰቱ በፊት ህብረተሰቡ ተገቢውን ጥንቃቄ እንዲያደርግ ፥ የተለያዩ መንገዶችን በመጠቀም የማስተማር ስራ መሰራቱን በጤና ቢሮው የህዝብ ግንኙነትና የጤና ኮሚዩኒኬሽን የስራ ሂደት ባለቤት አቶ ቀድርላ አህመድ ተናግረዋል። በሽታው ተከስቶባቸዋል ተብሎ የተረጋገጡ ቦታዎች ላይ አስፈላጊው የመከላከል ስራ እየተሰራ እንደሆነ ጠቅሰው ፥ በሽታውን ለመቆጣጠር ከጤና ጥበቃ ሚኒስቴር ጋር በመተባበር የተለያዩ ጥረቶች እየተደረጉ ነው ብለዋል። ወረርሽኙ ወደ ሌሎች የክልሉ አካባቢዎች እንዳይዛመት  የበሽታው መመርመሪያ ማሽን በክልሉ በስፋት ተሰራጭቶ ስራዎች እየተሰሩ ነው ያሉት። በሽታው በተከሰተባቸው አካባቢዎች ያሉ ነዋሪዎች በስጋት ያልተጣራ መድሃኒት እየወሰዱ በመሆናቸው ፥ በዚህ ዙሪያም አስፈላጊ ጥንቃቄ ህብረተሰቡ እንዲያደርግ ነው የጠየቁት። ማህበረሰቡ ወደ ሌሎች አካባቢዎችም ይዛመታል ከሚል ከስጋት ነጻ ይሆን ዘንድም በሽታውን ለመከላከልና ለመቆጣጠር የሚያግዙ መድሃኒቶች በስፋት እየተሰራጩ እንደሆነም ይናገራሉ። ከቅድመ መከላከል ባለፈም በአርባምንጭ ከተማ ብቻ
