ታላቁ ሩጫ በኢትዮጵያ ‹‹ሁሉም›› በሚል መሪ ቃል ያዘጋጀው ሁለተኛው የሐዋሳ ኢንተርናሽናል ግማሽ ማራቶን የሩጫ ውድድር ኬንያዊው አትሌት ኪፕሊሞ ኪሙታይ በአገሩ ልጅ የተያዘውን ክብረወሰን በማሻሻል አሸንፏል፡፡ በሴቶች ኢትዮጵያዊቷ የኦሜድላ አትሌት ሲሳይ መአሶ አሸናፊ ሆናለች፡፡ የዘንድሮው ታላቁ ሩጫ በኢትዮጵያ ‹‹ሁሉም›› በሚል ቃል የተዘጋጀው የእናቶችንና ሕፃናትን ሞት ለመቀነስና ለማስቀረት የሚያስችሉ መልዕክቶች እንዲተላለፉበት በሚል ሲሆን፣ በውድድሩ ከአትሌቶች ውጪ ከአራት ሺሕ በላይ በሩጫው ተሳትፈዋል፡፡ ውድድሩን የደቡብ ክልል ርእሰ መስተዳድር አቶ ሽፈራው ሽጉጤ፣ በኢትዮጵያ የአሜሪካ አምባሳደር ዶናልድ ቡዝ፣ አትሌት ኃይሌ ገብረሥላሴና ገብረእግዚአብሔር ገብረማርያም አስጀምረውታል፡፡ በአትሌቶች መካከል በተደረገው 21 ኪሎ ሜትር የሩጫ ውድድር ኬንያዊው ኪፕሊሞ ኪሙታይ ርቀቱን 1 ሰዓት 03 ደቂቃ 10 ሰኮንድ በሆነ ጊዜ ሲያጠናቅቅም፣ ይህም ባለፈው ዓመት በሌላው ኬንያዊ ዊልስ ቼሮት 1 ሰዓት 03 ደቂቃ 13 ሰኮንድ ተይዞ የቆየውን በ03 ሰኮንድ በማሻሻል አዲስ ክብረወሰን አሻሽሏል፡፡ በሴቶች መካከል በተደረገው የኦሜድላዋ አትሌት ሲሳይ መአሶ በ1 ሰዓት ከ16 ደቂቃ 41 ሰኮንድ አጠናቃ የወርቅ ሜዳሊያ ተሸላሚ ሆናለች፡፡ ታላቁ ሩጫ በኢትዮጵያ ለሁለቱም አትሌቶች የ10 ሺሕ ብር ሽልማት ሲሰጥ፣ ኬንያዊው ኪፕሊሞ ከሙታይ ለክብረወሰኑ ተጨማሪ የ3 ሺሕ ብር ተሸላሚ ሆኗል፡፡

በደቡብ ክልል የሐዋሳ ከተማ ፖሊስ መምሪያ የ13 ሆቴል ባለንብረቶችን በተጨማሪ እሴት ታክስ (በቫት) ማጭበርበር በመጠርጠራቸው በቁጥጥር ሥር ማዋሉ ታወቀ፡፡ በቁጥጥር ሥር ከዋሉት ባለሆቴሎች መካከል የቱሪዝም ኢንቨስትመንት ማረጋጫ ሰርተፍኬት ያላቸው ይገኙበታል፡፡ የሐዋሳ ከተማ ፖሊስ መምሪያ የመናኸሪያ ክፍለ ከተማ አዛዥ ኢንስፔክተር በየነ ባናታ ለሪፖርተር እንደገለጹት፣ የሆቴል ባለንብረቶቹና ተወካዮቻቸው የተያዙት ለመንግሥት ማስገባት የነበረባቸውን ተጨማሪ እሴት ታክስ በማጭበርበር ተጠርጥረው ነው፡፡ ኢንስፔክተር በየነ እንደሚሉት፣ በመናኸሪያ ክፍለ ከተማ ፖሊስ ጣቢያ በቁጥጥር ሥር የዋሉት የብሉ ናይል፣ የታደሰ እንጆሪ፣ የሲዳማ ውበት ሆቴሎች ሥራ አስኪያጆችና ገንዘብ ተቀባዮች በአጠቃላይ አሥር ሰዎች /አራት ሴትና ስድስት ወንድ/፤ እንዲሁም የሐሮኒ ኢንተርናሽናል፣ የኢቪኒንግ ስታር፣ የበሹ ጫምበላላ፣  የሻሸመኔ ሪፍት ቫሊ፣ የወላይታ ሶዶና የአርባ ምንጭ ቱሪስት ሆቴሎች ኃላፊዎችና ገንዘብ ተቀባዮች ናቸው፡፡ ስማቸው እንዳይጠቀስ የፈለጉ ምንጮች ለሪፖርተር እንደገለጹት፣ የሻሸመኔ ሪፍት ቫሊ፣ የወላይታ ሶዶና የአርባ ምንጭ ቱሪስት ሆቴሎች ባለንብረቶች በተመሳሳይ የደረሰኝ ቁጥር ቫት ሲሰበሰቡ ቆይተው ለመንግሥት ገቢ ማድረግ የሚገባቸውን አሥራ ሁለት ሚሊዮን ብር ማጭበርበራቸው በጥቆማ ተደርሶባቸው መሆኑን፣ የእነዚሁ ሆቴሎች ባለሀብቶች በደረጃ አንድ የኮንስትራክሽን ዘርፍ የተሠማሩና በተመሳሳይ የማጭበርበር ወንጀል የተጠረጠሩ ናቸው፡፡  የብሉ ናይል፣ የኢቪኒንግ  ስታር፣ የሲዳማ ውበት፣ የቤራ፣ የዳህላክና የታደሰ እንጆሪ ሆቴሎች ባለቤቶች በመሰወራቸው ሥራ አስኪያጆችና ገንዘብ ተቀባዮች በቁጥጥር ሥር መዋላቸውን ምንጮች ለሪፖርተር አክለው ገልጸዋል፡፡ በአጠቃላይ የአሥ

S.Ethiopia Peoples' State, April 6, 2011 (Hawassa) - More than 173 million select coffee seedlings have been prepared for transplantation in South Ethiopia Peoples' State, the state agriculture bureau said. The bureau told ENA on Tuesday that 80 per cent of the stated number of seedlings are nurtured on farmers' plots. It said the seedlings will be transplanted on 24,000 hectares land. The number of the seedlings has increased by 60 million compared to that of last year, the bureau said. Various activities are underway to preserve organic coffee, the bureau said. Special attention is given to Specialty Coffee , which has great market demand, it said, adding, relevant training has been given to model farmers in Sidama and Gedeo Zones of the state in collaboration with the Jimma Agricultural Research Center. Hawassa, April 6, 2011 (Hawassa) - Hawassa University said it is undertaking some 62 expansion projects at a cost of 408 million birr. University plan and program head Dr.Tsegaye Bekele told ENA that the expansion projects would enable the university to accommodate the ever increasing students. The expansion projects are underway in main, agriculture, health science and Wondo Genet campuses. The expansion includes the construction of dormitory, library, asphalt and cobblestone works, laboratory and other facilities. Similarly, he said some 10 projects out of 33 launched last year at a cost of 540 million birr have already completed. Upon fully operational the projects, the university would enroll new 2,500 postgraduates’ students in the coming academic year. Currently, the university is enrolling 17,000 students in postgraduates programs, he said.

The Ethiopian Roads Authority (ERA) awarded two parts of the construction of the second phase of the Mombassa-Nairobi-Addis Abeba Road corridor to an Egyptian based construction company, at a cost of around 740.7 million Br, on Wednesday, March 29, 2011. The ERA also signed comprehensive road project agreements worth a total of 2.6 billion Br with four local companies for the construction of 242.8km of roads in Tigray and Amhara regional states. The Hagere Mariam-Mega asphalt road rehabilitation and 94.5km Hagere Mariam-Yabelo concrete pavement construction projects, both in Oromia Regional State, were awarded to Arab Contractors (Osman Ahmed Osman & Co).
