የዜናው ምንጭ፦  www.ena.gov.et አዲስ አበባ ግንቦት 20/2006 ኢትዮጵያ በሁለት አሥርት ዓመታት ውስጥ ምርትና ምርታማነትን በማሳደግ በአገር አቀፍ ደረጃ በምግብ ራሷን መቻሏን ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ኃይለማርያም ደሳለኝ ተናገሩ። ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትር ኃይለማርያም በአዲስ አበባ ስታዲዬም በተከበረው 23ኛው የግንቦት 20 የድል በዓል የማጠቃለያ ሥነ-ሥርዓት ላይ እንደተናገሩት ባለፉት 20 ዓመታት በቤተሰብ ደረጃ የምግብ ዋስትናን የሚያረጋግጡ ፕሮግራሞች ተግባራዊ በመሆናቸው ስኬታማ ውጤት ተመዝግቧል። ከሦስት ዓመታት በፊት የአፍሪካ ቀንድ አካባቢ አገሮች ባለፉት ስድስት አሥርታት ታሪክ ታይቶ በማይታወቅ መልኩ በድርቅ ክፉኛ ተመተው እንደነበር አስታውሰው፣ ኢትዮጵያ በዚህ ወቅት ያለአንዳች መሰናክል ችግሩን ማለፏን ገልጸዋል። ኢትዮጵያ ከ23 ዓመታት አገሪቱ ከነበረችበት ከፍተኛ ተመጽዋችነት በመውጣት ምርትና ምርታማነትን በማሳደግ በዓመት ከ250 ሚሊዮን ኩንታል በላይ ምርት ማምረቷንም አቶ ኃይለማርያም ተናግረዋል። ጠቅላይ ሚኒስትሩ እንዳሉት አርሶ አደሩ ከፍተኛ ገቢ ወደሚያስገኙ ምርቶች መሸጋገሩንና በቀጣይም ጠንካራ አገር በቀል ባለሃብቶችን በማፍራት የማኑፋክቸሪንግ ኢንዱስትሪውን ለማሳደግ ጥረት ይደረጋል። ለሁለት አስርት ዓመታት በተካሄደው እልህ አስጨራሽ ትግልም አገሪቱ በዓለም ኅብረተሰብ ዘንድ ትታወቅበት ከነበረው ረሃብና ጉስቁልና በመውጣት ከኦክስፎርድ የእንግሊዝኛ መዝገበ-ቃላትም የረሃብተኝነት ምሳሌ መሆኗ እንዲፋቅ መደረጉን ተናግረዋል።ይህም ለኢትዮጵያውያን ታላቅ እመርታ መሆኑን ጠቅሰዋል።  በቀጣይም ኢትዮጵያ ከሚፈለገው ምርታማነትና የብልፅግና ደረጃ ለመድረስና ግሎባላይዜሽን የደቀነውን የውድድር ፈተና በብቃት ለማለፍ  ዜጎች ከመንግስት

ምንጭ፦  www.fanabc.com አዲስ አበባ ፣ ግንቦት 19 ፣ 2006 ( ኤፍ.ቢ.ሲ. ) የ2ኛ ደረጃ ማጠናቀቂያ ፈተና ዛሬ በመላ ሀገሪቱ መሰጠት ጀመረ። ፈተናውን 887 ሺህ 982 ተማሪዎች የወሰዱ ሲሆን ፥ ተማሪዎቹ  በዛሬው የፈተና መርሃ ግብራቸው አማርኛ ፣ እንግሊዘኛና ሂሳብ ትምህርቶችን መፈተናቸውን ነው የሀገር አቀፍ የትምህርት ምዘናና ፈተናዎች ኤጀንሲ የተናገረው። በተዘጋጁት 1 ሺህ 494 የመፈተኛ ጣቢያዎች ውስጥም ያለምንም የዲሲፕሊን ጉድለት የመጀመሪያው ቀን የፈተና ሂደት መከናወኑን የኤጀንሲው ምክትል ዋና ዳይሬክተር አቶ ዘሪሁን ዱሬሳ ለፋና ብሮድካስቲንግ ኮርፖሬት ተናግረዋል። የሁለተኛው ቀን ፈተናም ሀሙስ ግንቦት 21 የሚቀጥል ሲሆን ፥ በሚቀጥሉት የፈተና ቀናት ውስጥም ህብረተሰቡና በፈተናው የተሳተፉ አካላት በዛሬው እለት ለፈተናው በሰላም መከናወን ያደረጉትን ጥረት አጠናክረው እንዲቀጥሉ ጥሪ አቅርበዋል። የፊታችን ሰኞ ደግሞ ከ199 ሺህ በላይ የ12ኛ ክፍል ተማሪዎች የሚፈተኑት የዩኒቨርስቲ መግቢያ ፈተና ይቀጥላል።

Fairtrade products fail to help the poor, study finds

Coffee and tea drinkers spending an extra few dollars on Fairtrade-certified products are not actually benefitting the lives of the poorest workers in rural Ethiopia and Uganda, according to a new report. Researchers at the School of Oriental and African Studies at the University of London spent four years studying rural labour markets in areas producing coffee, tea and flower crops for export. They found that the poorest manual agricultural wage workers in Fairtrade-certified farms are in fact paid less, and experience inferior working conditions, compared with those working in areas without Fairtrade certification. “Careful fieldwork and analysis in this four-year-project leads to the conclusion that in our research sites, Fairtrade has not been an effective mechanism for improving the lives of wage workers, the poorest rural people,” said Christopher Cramer, economics professor at SOAS, and one of the study’s authors.
