ሃዋሳ ሐምሌ 27/2005 በደቡብ ክልል በተጠናቀቀዉ በጀት አመት የ12ሺህ 415 የባዮ ጋዝ ተቋማት ግንባታ እየተካሄደ መሆኑን የክልሉ ውሃ ሀብት ቢሮ አስታወቀ ። የቢሮ የኮሚኒኬሽን ጉዳዮች የስራ ሂደት ባለሙያ አቶ ጁሲ ጥላሁን ትናንት ለኢትዮጵያ ዜና አገልግሎት እንደገለጹት የባዮ ጋዝ ተቋማቱ ግንባታ እየተካሄደ ያለዉ አማራጭ የሀይል አቅርቦትን ለህብረተሰቡ ለማዳረስ መንግስት በያዘው ፕሮግራም መሰረት ነዉ ። በተጨማሪ በክልሉ የተለያዩ ዞኖችና ልዩ ወረዳዎች በሚገኙ የገጠር አካባቢዎች 193ሺህ ማገዶ ቆጣቢ ምድጃዎችን በማሰራጨት ከ190ሺህ ሺህ በላይ ነዋሪዎችን ተጠቃሚ ማድረግ መቻሉን ተናግረዋል ። የባዮ ጋዝ ተቋማቱ የግብርና ተረፈ ምርቶችን በማብላለት ከሚወጣዉ ጋዝ በርካታ ቤተሰቦችን የመብራትና የምግብ ማሰያ ተጠቃሚ እንደሚያደርግ አገልጠዋል ። በክልሉ አማራጭ የሃይል አቅርቦት ለህብረተሰቡ ለማዳረስ በተደረገው ጥረት ባለፉት አመታት በተመሳሳይ በርካታ የገጠር ነዋሪዎች ተጠቃሚ መሆናቸውን አስታዉቀዋል ። ይህም ለማገዶና ለሀይል ፍላጎት እየተባለ የሚወድመውን የደን ሀብት ከመታደግ በሻገር የህብረተሰቡን የስራ ጊዜ ፣ ጉልበትና ወጪ ለመቆጠብ ከፍተኛ አስተዋጾኦ አድርጓል ብለዋል ። በደቡብ ክልል በእድገትና ትራንስፎርሜሽን ዕቅድ ዘመኑ መጨረሻ ታዳሽና አማራጭ የሀይል አቅርቦት በ2002 ከነበረበት 15 በመቶ ሽፋን ወደ 25 በመቶ ለማሳደግ ሰፋፊ ፕሮግራሞች ተነድፈው እንቅስቃሴ እየተደረገ መሆኑን ገልጸዋል ። በበጀት አመቱ ለኢነርጂና ለማእድን ልማት ጨምሮ የሚስፈልገው አጠቃላይ የማስፈጸሚያ በጀት ከ19ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ መሆኑን በእቅዱ ላይ ተመልክቷል፡፡

An area rich in culture, traditions and is one of the most fertile regions of the country. Rolling hills, a patchwork of intense greens, coffee plantations and waterfalls. An area where there is no tourist infrastructure but with so much to see. The people were shocked to see a traveller - even more so than in the remote tribal regions. (OPride) – Over the last several weeks, a lot has been said on both sides of the “I am Oromo first” and “I am Ethiopian first” divide. But very little about why people choose those positions.
