Sidama zone covers 6972.1 square kilometer And lies between 6.14-7.18 latitude and 37.92to 39.19 longitudes, with an elevation ranging 501-3000 meters above see level. The zone is divided in 19 Woredas with a total population of 3019442 (2007). Regarding the Agro – Ecology of the zone, out of the total land size 26.8% is kolla, 45.49% Weinadega and 27.71% Dega. The annual mean temperature of the zone ranges between 10.1-27o c and the annual mean rainfall ranges 801- 1600 mm. According to the land utilization data of the region, 50.67% is cultivated land, 17.57% grazing land, 6.51% forest bushes and shrub land, 17.84 % cultivable, and the remaining 7.41% is covered by others. Sidama zone has a total length of 1173.8 km. all weather road , of the total length 96.5 km. is tarmac road 857 km graveled and 52 km is partially graveled. ሰኔ ፩ (አንድ) ቀን ፳፻፭ ዓ/ም ኢሳት ዜና:-የደቡብ ክልል ርእሰ መዲና ሓዋሳ እና  የአማራ ክልል ርእሰ መዲና ባህርዳር የክልል ርእሰ መዲናነታቸውን በማስረከብ በቀጥታ በፌደራል መንግስቱ አንደሚተዳደሩ ታውቋል፡፡ የሚኒስትሮች ም/ቤት ለውይይት ባዘጋጀው ሰነድ ላይ እንደገለጸው  ከተሞቹ ከርእሰ መዲናነት ወደ ፌዳራል ከተማነት በመሸጋገር ለማእከላዊ መንግስት ግብር ይከፍላሉ፣ በማእከላዊ መንግስት ይተዳደራሉ። በአቶ አዲሱ ለገሰ መሪነት የብአዴን ባለስልጣናት ውይይት አድርገዋል።  ባህርዳር የክልል ርእሰ  መዲናነቱዋን ለደቡብ ጎንደር ዞን ዋና ከተማ ደብረ ታቦር ታስረክባለች። በደቡብ በኩል የክልሉን ዋና ከተማ ለመምረጥ ከፍተኛ ችግር ማጋጠሙ ታውቋል። ክልሎች ወደ ፊድራል ሲዛወሩ ከአዲስ አበባ እና ድሬድዋ ቀጥለው ለፊድራል መንግስቱ የሚገብሩ ተጠሪ ከተሞች ይሆናሉ፡፡ የገቢ አቅማቸው አድጓል በሚል የተወሰነባቸው  ከተሞች እጣ ፈንታ በክልሎች የማግባቢያ  ውይይት ተደርጎበት 2006 ላይ ተግባራዊ ይሆናል፡፡ በአማራ ክልል  የክልል መዲናነቱን የአዊ ዞኖዋ ዳንግላ፤የምዕ/ጎጃሞዋ ፍኖተ ሰላም ፤የምስ/ጎጃሞዋ  ደብረ ማርቆስ ፤የወሎዋ ወልድያ ጥያቂያቸውን እንዲሚያነሱ ይጠበቃል፡፡ ከደቡብ ክልልም የወላይታ ሶዶን ከተማ እና አርባ ምንጭን ካፋጠጠው ጉዳይ አንስቶ ስልጤ ፤ጉራጌ፤ ከንባታ እና ሃድያን ቅሬታ ውስጥ ይከታቸዋል ተብሎ ይጠበቃል፡፡ አቶ አዲሱ በደቡብ ክልል የታየውን አይነት ብጥብጥ በአማራ ክልል እንዳይደገም ሁላችሁም ደብረታቦርን በዋና ከተማነት ተቀበሉ በማለት ለተሰብሳቢዎች ገልጸዋል። ከፍተኛ ገቢ ብቻ ሳይሆን ከፍተኛ ግብር በመክፈል በ9ኛው የኢህአዴግ ጉባኤ ላይ የተወደሰችውን መቀሌ  ወደ ፌደራል መንግስቱ ለማዞር እቅድ ይኑር አይኑር አልታወቀ
