Wed, 06 March 2013, 12:23PM In the week of 18 th  February, a cross-party UK parliamentary delegation went to Ethiopia to explore how the country is dealing with key health issues. Sir Tony Cunningham MP, Heather Wheeler MP, Kevin Barron MP, Baroness Hooper and Lord Hussain visited the TB REACH project in Awassa, Southern Ethiopia to understand how it works and its impact.  Funded by the WHO’s Stop TB Partnership, the objective of the TB REACH project is to promote early and increased case detection of tuberculosis (TB) cases and ensure their timely treatment, while maintaining high cure rates within TB programmes at national level. TB REACH focuses on using ground-breaking approaches and activities in reaching people who are poor, vulnerable or have limited access to TB services. Sidama Community United Kingdom, May 25, 2013 On a very bright morning in Sidama land, on May 24, 2002, between 10:30 and 11:00am local time; the Sidama people of all walks of life staged on a peaceful and non-violent Demonstration after fully exhausting the constitutional requirements that is needed to undertake such an activity. Carrying the leaves of trees and Ethiopian flags, the demonstrators peacefully started to march towards their capital city, Hawassa which is located at the distance of about 3 km from where they have been planning to hold the said peaceful demonstration when they were encountered with deliberately targeted barbaric acts after they have nearly travelled about a kilometre from the point they were gathering. The objectives of the demonstration was in protest of the government’s decision to remove the administrative right of their capital (Hawassa)- from Sidama to the federal government in addition to the issues related with regional self administration

Written by  መታሰቢያ ካሣዬ ከግማሽ በላይ የሚሆኑት የልብ ህመሞች በጉሮሮ ህመም ሳቢያ የሚከሰቱ ናቸው ልብ በተለያዩ ችግሮች ምክንያት ሥራውን ካቆመ ደም ወደ አንጐላችን መድረስ አይችልም፡፡ ይህ ደግሞ አንጐላችን ኦክስጅን እንዳያገኝ ያደርገዋል፡፡ የሰው ልጅ አንጐል ለ15 ሰኮንዶች ያህል ኦክስጅን ካላገኘ ህሊናን መሳት ይከተላል፡፡ አንጐላችን ከ10 ደቂቃ በላይ ኦክስጅን ካላገኘ ሞት ይከተላል፡፡ በዚህ መሠረታዊ የሰውነታችን አካል ላይ የሚደርስ ችግር በቀላሉ መፍትሔ ለማግኘት የሚችል ባለመሆኑ ለከፍተኛ አደጋና ሞት ያጋልጠናል፡፡ መረጃዎች እንደሚያመለክቱት፤ በልብ ህመም የተያዘ ሰው የቱንም ያህል ዘመናዊ ህክምና ቢያገኝም ህመሙን ሙሉ በሙሉ ማዳንና ወደቀድሞው ሁኔታ መመለስ አይቻልም፡፡ ይህ መሠረታዊ የሆነው የአካላችን ክፍል ምንም የህመም ምልክት ሳያሳየንና ጤነኛ መስሎን በድንገት በሚፈጥረው ችግር ህይወታችን ለአደጋ ይጋለጣል፡፡ ድንገተኛ ስለሆነው የልብ ህመም መንስኤዎች፣ ምልክቶችና ህክምናዎች አስመልክቶ በጥቁር አንበሳ ሆስፒታል የውስጥ ደዌ ስፔሻሊስት ዶ/ር ታረቀኝ ተስፋዬ ማብራሪያ ሰጥተውናል፡፡ የልብ ህመም በአሁኑ ወቅት በአገራችን በስፋት የሚታይና ለበርካቶች ድንገተኛ ሞት መንስኤ ሆኗል። አብዛኛዎቹ የልብ ህሙማን በሽታው እንዳለባቸው እንኳን ሳያውቁ በድንገት በሚፈጠር ችግር ህይወታቸው ሲያልፍ ማየት እየተለመደ መጥቷል፡፡ ይህም ህብረተሰቡ ጤናውን ለመጠበቅና ያሉበትን የጤና ችግሮች አስቀድሞ በማወቅ ህክምናና ጥንቃቄ የማድረግ ልምድ እንደሌለው አመላካች ነው” የሚሉት ዶ/ር ታረቀኝ፤ የልብ ህመም ዓይነቶችን እንዲህ ይዘረዝሯቸዋል፡፡ ቀደም ባሉት ዘመናት የልብ ህመም የሰለጠኑት አገራት የጤና ችግር እንደሆነ ይታሰብ ነበር፡፡ ይሁን እንጂ ችግሩ የ

Written by  ኤልያስ ምቀኞች ቢበዙልን እኮ ባለ3 ዲጂት እድገት እናስመዘግብ ነበር !          አንዳንዴ የአባቶችን ተረትና ምሳሌ እንዲሁም ብሂል ዝም ብሎ ማጣጣል “ፌር” አይመስለኝም። አንዳንድ ቀለም የዘለቃቸው የጦቢያ ምሁሮችና ዘመናይ ነን ባዮች ግን እነዚህን ሥነ ቃሎች ለድህነታችንና ኋላ ቀርነታችን ሰበብ አድርገው ያቀርባሉ፡፡ አላወቁም እንጂ ጦቢያችን ከእነመንግስቷ ቆማ የምትሄደው በእነዚህ ወርቃማ አባባሎች እኮ ነው፡፡ እውነቱን ለመናገር---ከእነዚህ ምሁር ነን ባዮች እኮ የጥንቶቹ አባቶቻችን በብዙ ነገር ሺ ጊዜ ይበልጧቸዋል፡፡ እናም “ከመጠምጠም መማር ይቅደም” እላቸዋለሁ - የአባቶቻችንን ብሂሎች የሚተቹትን የጦቢያ ምሁሮች፡፡ ይሄን ግሳፄ የምሰነዝረው ግን ዝም ብዬ አይደለም፡፡ ብሂሎቹ ለጦቢያ የህልውና መሠረት መሆናቸውን ስለደረስኩበት ነው፡፡ ለዛሬ ልዩ ትኩረት አድርገን የምንፈትሸው ከጥንት የአባቶች አባባል ከወረስናቸው ሥነቃሎች መካከል “ምቀኛ አታሳጣኝ” የሚለውን ወርቃማ ብሂል ነው፡፡ እውነቴን ነው የምላችሁ --- የጦቢያችን ህልውና የተመሰረተው ሙሉ በሙሉ በእዚህ ብሂል ላይ ነው፡፡ ብታምኑኝም ባታምኑኝም “ምቀኛ አታሳጣኝ” የሚለው ሥነ ቃል ባይኖር ጦቢያችን አትኖርም ነበር፡፡ ጥናቴ እንደሚጠቁመው፤ የአበሻ ዘር ምቀኛ ያጣ ዕለት መኖር ያቆማል (አሳዛኝ ቢመስልም ሃቅ ነው!) በአጠቃላይ የዕድገታችን በሉት የስልጣኔያችን ወይም በኢህአዴግ ቋንቋ የህዳሴያችን መሰረቱ “ምቀኛ አታሳጣኝ” የሚለው መሪ ሥነ ቃል ነው፡፡ አበሻ ሲፀልይ “ምቀኛ አታሳጣኝ” ይላል ሲባል አልሰማችሁም? ቀልድ ከመሰላችሁ እንደኔ ተሸውዳችኋል፡፡ ፈፅሞ የማያጠራጥር ሃቅ መሆኑን እኔ ላረጋግጥላችሁ እችላለሁ - በመረጃም በማስረጃም፡፡ እንኳን ዜጐች ራሳቸው ፖለቲከኞችም ከዚ
