FORT COLLINS  - Colorado State University signed an international Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Ethiopia’s Hawassa University to provide collaborative research and teaching opportunities for faculty and graduate students at the two universities. The MOU was signed in January of this year, and in February, a team of four CSU researchers from the Natural Resource Ecology Laboratory traveled to south-central Ethiopia where they taught short courses in geographic information systems, watershed management, animal nutrition and forest ecology at the Wondo Genet College of Forestry and Natural Resources located off Hawassa’s main campus. Hawassa, 14 April 2012 (allAfrica)  — More than 153,  people  have received HIV and AIDS Voluntary Counseling and blood Testing (VCT) in Sidama Zone over the past seven months, the zonal health department said. Health Promotion and Disease Preventions Process owner coordinator Yohannes Latamo told ENA that more than 80,000 of them are women. He said the department is working with government and NGOs to expand VCT service to reach out more community. Some 520 people have found to be positive, he said. Following the establishment of HIV and AIDS fund in government offices care and support service is being offered to 39 people living with HIV and AIDS, he said. He said government offices have also allocated two percent of their budget each for HIV and AIDS prevention and control activities. With this fund, 21 people living with HIV and AIDS are taking Anti-Retroviral Treatment and more than 5,000 orphaned and vulnerable children are provided shelter, food and  educational m

የደቡብ ክልል መንግሥት ነዋሪዎቹ ለሕዳሴው ግድብ ግንባታ ገንዘብ እያዋጡ በመሆኑ ላለማስጨነቅ ሲል በራሱ ወጭ የአዲስ ስታዲየም ግንባታ አስጀመረ፡፡ ክልሉ ለስታዲየሙና ለተያያዥ ግንባታዎች ትናንት ሐሙስ ሚያዝያ 11 ቀን 2004 ዓ.ም. ሳትኮን ኮንስትራክሽን ኩባንያ በ548 ሚሊዮን ብር እንዲገነባለት ውል ተፈራርሟል፡፡ ከዚህ በጀት ውስጥ 80 ሚሊዮኑን በዚህ የበጀት ዓመት ለሚሠሩ ሥራዎች የሚውል ሲሆን፣ ይህንን ጨምሮ በ2005 በጀት ዓመትም ለሥራው የሚያስፈልገውን ገንዘብ የሚመድበው ክልሉ ነው፡፡ ይህ የተወሰነው ሐዋሳ ከተማ ላይ ስታዲየሙን ጨምሮ የሚገነባውን ግዙፍ የስፖርት ኮምፕሌክስ እንዲያሠራ የተሰየመው ምክር ቤት ከክልሉ መንግሥት ጋር ከመከረ በኋላ መሆኑ ታውቋል፡፡ የስፖርት ኮምፕሌክስ ግንባታ ፕሮጀክት ማስተባበርያ ጽሕፈት ቤት ኃላፊ አቶ አሰፋ አመሎ ለሪፖርተር እንደገለጹት፣ በ2004 እና በ2005 በጀት ዓመት ክልሉ ከራሱ ካዝና እየመደበ ያሠራል፡፡ በ2006 በጀት ዓመት ሕዝብ ለግንባታው አስተዋጽዖ እንዲያደርግ ይጠይቃል ሲሉ አስረድተዋል፡፡ ሥራውን ሐሙስ ተረክቦ በዕለቱ ቁፋሮ የጀመረው ሳትኮን ኮንስትራክሽን ይህንን ፕሮጀክት ለማሸነፍ ከስምንት ኮንስትራክሽን ኩባንያዎች ጋር ተወዳድሯል፡፡ ከስምንቱ ውስጥ ሦስቱ በቴክኒካል ጨረታ ሲወድቁ፣ አምስቱ ጨረታውን አልፈው በፋይናንስ ጨረታ ተወዳድረዋል፡፡ ከእነዚህ ኩባንያዎች ውስጥ ሳትኮንን ጨምሮ አፍሮ ጽዮን ኮንስትራክሽን፣ ሚድሮክ ኮንስትራክሽንና ቫርኔሮ ይገኙበታል፡፡ ከአምስቱ የኮንስትራክሽን ኩባንያዎች ውስጥ ዝቅተኛውን 548 ሚሊዮን ብር ለመጀመርያው ዙር የስታዲዮም ግንባታ በማቅረብ ሳትኮን አሸንፏል፡፡ ከፍተኛ የሆነውን የጨረታ ገንዘብ 564 ሚሊዮን ብር ያቀረበው ቫርኔሮ ሲሆን፣ ሦስቱ ኮንስትራክሽን
