የሲዳማ ዞን የመስህብ ስፍራዎችን ከጎበኙ ቱሪስቶች ከ3 ነጥብ 8 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ ገቢ ተገኘ

New ሃዋሳ, የካቲት 15 ቀን 2004 (ሃዋሳ) - በደቡብ ክልል ሲዳማ ዞን የሚገኙ የቱሪስት መስህብ ስፍራዎችን ከጎበኙ የሀገር ውስጥና የውጪ ጎብኝዎች ከ3 ነጥብ 8 ሚሊዮን ብር በላይ ገቢ መገኘቱን የዞኑ ባህል ቱሪዝምና የመንግስት ከሙኒኬሽን መምሪያ አስታወቀ፡፡ በመምሪያው የቱሪዝም ፓርኮች ልማትና አጠቃቀም የስራ ሂደት አሰተባባሪ አቶ ቶሎማ ካቢሶ ለኢትዮጵያ ዜና አገልግሎት እንደገለጹት ገቢው የተገኘው ባለፉት ስድስት ወራት በዞኑ የሚገኙ የመስህብ ስፍራዎችን ከጎበኙ 27 ሺህ 452 የሀገር ውስጥና የውጪ ቱሪስቶች ነው፡፡ የተገኘው ገቢ ካለፈው ዓመት ተመሳሳይ ወቅት ጋር ሲነፃፀር በእጥፍ ብልጫ እንዳለው ገልፀዋል፡፡ የጎብኚዎች መጨመር በዞኑ በሚገኙ የተለያዩ ወረዳዎች የሚገኙ የመስህብ ስፍራዎችን በተለያዩ ህትመቶችና በድረ ገጽ ማስተዋወቅ በመቻሉ የጎብኝዎች ቁጥር ከጊዜ ወደ ጊዜ እያደገ መሆኑን አቶ ቱሉማ ገልጸዋል፡፡ የጎብኚዎች ቁጥር እያደገ መምጣቱ ማሳያ ከሆኑት በተለይ በሲዳማ ብሄረሰብ የዘመን መለወጫ ዕለት የፊቼ በዓል አከባበርን ለማየት የሚመጡ ጎብኝዎች ቁጥር እየጨመረ መምጣቱ የሚጠቀስ መሆኑን አመልክተዋል፡፡ ባለፉት ስድስት ወራት ውስጥ የዞኑን የመስህብ ስፍራዎች ከጎበኙ ቱሪስቶች መካከል 8 ሺህ 498 የሚሆኑት የውጭ ሃገር ጎብኝዎች መሆናቸውንና የአገር ውስጥ ጎብኝዎችም የአገራቸውን ተፈጥሯዊና ባህላዊ የመስህብ ስፍራዎችን የመጎብኘት ልምድ እያደገ መምጣቱንም አስታውቀዋል፡፡ በሀዋሳ ከተማ የያሬድ ሆቴል ባለቤትና የሆር አስጎብኝ ድርጅት ስራ አስኪያጅ አቶ ያሬድ ሽብሩ እንደገለጹት የቱሪስት ፍሰቱ ከጊዜ ወደጊዜ እያደገ መምጣቱን ጠቁመው በተለይ ወጣት የሀገር ውስጥ ጎብኝዎች ቁጥር ከጊዜ ወደ ጊዜ

Conglomerate farming cotton in Sidama

New Conglomerate Wide business Private Limited Company plans to set up a commercial farm on 1550hct of land. The corporation that owns metal supplier Artmetal jewelry and wrought iron company,  the ferric belt processing and engineering factory and Hast Enterprise will make the investment under the newly formed Bura Agro Integrated company.  The farm is located in the Southern  Nations and Nationalities and People’s Regional States (SNNPRs) in Sidama Zone, Loka Abaya woreda Bura kebele. The new company is named after that kebele.   Seid Hassen, General Manager of Wide Business said they have invested about 25 million birr already for the integrated agro-commercial irrigation farming on 428hct. It took the 428hct for a lease period of 45 years for a value of 70 birr per hectare.   The company has already allocated 28hct for horticultural activities and 400hct for cotton farming. Irrigation Project on Gidabo River ‘Well in Progress’

New Addis Ababa, February 20 (WIC) –  Federal Water Works Construction Enterprise said the 224 million birr irrigation development project on Gidabo River is well in progress. The project was launched two years ago the boarders of Oromia Regional State and the Southern Nations Nationalities and Peoples’ Region in Borena and Sidama zones, respectively. “Water diversion works are fully completed,” Bisrat Demissie (Eng.), project manager, told WIC adding that other activities are also progressing well.  “We are currently undertaking soil leveling, concrete filling and dam water filling,” Bisrat said.  The Gidabo Irrigation Dam will have the capacity to hold 102 million metric cube of water with a length of 4.5 Km. The project, which will have the capacity to develop 11,000 hectares of land, is expected to be completed in a year and a half time.  “The dam will enable farmers in both regions to harvest three times a year,” the project manager said.

Ethiopia receives funding to upgrade major roads

Date:  15/2/2012 Ethiopia is set to upgrade its transport infrastructure with a $234.5 million (£149 million) loan from the African Development Bank. The money will be used to reconstruct two roads that will connect the nation with neighbouring countries in a bid to improve trade, the Addis Fortune reports. A 112km route from Bedele to Metu will be upgraded as this is part of a network that connects Addis Ababa with the South Sudan capital Juba. The 197km road between Hawassa and Ageremariam - part of Mombassa-Nairobi-Addis Ababa Road Corridor - will also be improved using the funding, while $168 million will finance construction work on the Hawasssa-Ageremariam Road, which is part of the Trans-African Highway. Gaps in transport infrastructure are currently preventing the development of trade links within Africa and this latest project aims to address this, the newspaper stated.
