In an exclusive interview with Soccer Ethiopia prior to the move Bari said, “There are some Premier League clubs that wanted my service. My coach told me that there were some coaches who approached him to inquiry about me. For now I am concentrating helping Jimma Aba Bunna to achieve promotion.”
After the move Bari told Soccer Ethiopia that he is excited about the new challenge ahead of him. “It is a whole new level so I am kind of excited. Zelalem Shiferaw spoke with my coach (Jimma Aba Bunna coach Dereje). We sat down and looked at the offers. So, I signed. I had different offers though.”
It is believed that Sidama signed Bari after his showing in the Ethiopian National League group stage games. Bari’s Jimma Abba Bunna tops Group B with 10 points from 4 games. The club is also the first side to book its place in the quarter final of the National League.
Sidama Bunna, who finished last season 4th, likewise completed the signings of Haitian midfielder Sauren Oluris, Arbaminch Kenema’s duo Mulualem Mesfin and Anteneh Tesfaye, Debub Police’s Michael Lemma and Wolitta Dicha’s center back Zelalem Tadele. Sauren was a free agent after leaving Electric early in July.
