Sidama “Chire”

Not too long ago “Sidamo” (or more properly “Sidama”) coffee was often a less respected, more generic cousin to Yirgacheffe, the most fabled ethiopian coffee of all. The push for full, micro-lot traceability in Ethiopia over recent years has changed the landscape for specialty coffee as this spectacular offering demonstrates. Notes of Hyacinth, Honey, white grape are layered in with exotic spice in a coffee with a hefty, silky mouthfeel. Clean, dense and delicious, Sidama Chire is a standout even compared to the wide range of excellent coffee emanating from Ethiopia over the last two seasons. Highly recommended.
