Electorates casting votes in South Ethiopia Peoples' State

Awassa April 14/2013 Electorates in Hawassa, Aleta Wondo and Dilla Towns as well as Bench Majji, and Wolaita Zones in South Ethiopia Peoples' State are casting votes for the elections, according to ENA's reporters stationed in the stated areas. Accordingly, voters in Hawassa Town said that the election process is transparent, free, fair and credible. They said that they cast votes for candidates, who will serve the public. Similarly, the election process is underway in peaceful manner at 15 polling stations in Aleta Wondo Town, according to the town election coordination office coordinator Mekuria Dima. Eligible voters in Dilla Town are also casting votes at 29 polling stations in peaceful and democratic manner. Some 19,720 voters are registered to cast votes in the elections, according to Head of Gedeo Zone Election Coordination Office, Kebede Tizazu. Likewise, electorates in Bench Majji Zone are casting votes at 381 polling stations as per the timetable set by the National Electoral Board of Ethiopia, the zonal election coordination office said. Some voters on their parts told ENA that the cast votes to candidates believed to strive towards sustainability of the existing development. Meanwhile, electorates in Wolaita Zone are casting votes at 834 polling statons beginning from 6:00AM local time. Three political parties are contesting in the elections. More than 600,000 electorates are registered to cast votes in the elections in the zone.
