Construction of 16 mln. Birr worth safe water project nearing completion

Hawassa March 16/2013 Construction of a safe water project launched in Aleta Wondo Town, Sidama Zone of South Ethiopia Peoples' State with 16 million Birr is nearing completion, the town municipality said. The Municipality told ENA that the project includes digging of water wells, installation of water pipelines and construction of water reservoirs. It said the government allocated the budget for implementation of the project. So far digging of two water wells, installation of over 18km water pipe lines, construction of two water reservoirs and seven water distribution centers is undertaken. The project scheduled to be finalized at the end of the current Ethiopian budget year will give service to more than 30,000 residents for the coming twenty years, the Municipality said.
